The first one is next Thursday at 8pm and the next one is mid way through the course and there’s a third one at then end. If you want dates would you mind emailing Alice at Good Ship? I have forgotten the exact dates. But they are all on Thursdays at 8pm uk time. Hope this helps, Hx
Hi Helen, thanks for writing this. I'm in the midst of this feeling right now actually... I get excited about making things and then when I sit down to do so this weird sense of self-sensorship kicks in big time and I feel so awkward to make things. Working on it though.
Hoping to do the freak flag course at some point, and who know's the picture book course after. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for sharing Helen! I just signed up for the Picture Book course- I can't wait! My sketchbook work is loose and a lot of fun to make, but my polished final art is very tight and laborious. I love the series I wrapped up last year for a gallery show, but I do want to find a bridge between my sketches and finals. That and the transition between fine art and PB work. I've been enjoying your free content for about a year or so now, and I'm looking forward to pulling everything I can out of the course! It's great to hear that I'm not the only one trying to figure out the move between sketchbooks and final images!
Thanks Helen. It is a jump that is making me grumpy at the moment. I love my sketchbook stuff, but I am lazy and work super fast, sloshing stuff around to make myself laugh. However, transferring that into portfolio pieces is tricky. Transferring that into PB work is even harder. I am giving myself a year of trying new methods and submitting draft texts + working on a couple of dummy books (art and text) and if I get nowhere by this time next year (with agents/publishers) I intend to jump on the course. Thank you for your joyful and free tips! Invaluable to those of us still in the whirlpool. Have a great day! Xx
