I love that this post had strong vibes of ‘What I did in the holidays’ homework! 😆

Weirdly, I think I suit that style! 😂 I should adopt it full time, Gerry would leave me, but you have to make sacrifices for style don’t you?

Sounds like a great holiday- we are having sleepovers and pancakes and dog walks to the play park. Last night I dreamt about drawing ALL NIGHT LONG.

Hope you achieve your Toast Joggers x

No- it’s actual pancake day- I’ve only just found out!! It suddenly happened this year 😬

I love an everyday story even if it includes routines of an aging Peggy! My dear old dog Rufus was as surprised as me when our mornings had a similar start ! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I miss him a lot but not that bit!

I just found out there is a doggie bug going round, so hopefully Peggy will be better soon. Poor Rufus! Yes Peggy gives me an awful guilty look every morning 👀

I was promised a dull post and then I got this?! So either I like dull things or this isn’t dull at all. I’m confused now.

(Ps. Had a great time reading it. )

This was a treat! I need more "dull" Helen happenings, please! I also have a senior pup who has a tendency to tinkle in the dining room sometimes. He left me a heart-shaped puddle once last year, the little charmer. I have a morning rituals post in drafts for a rainy day and this is making me want to press publish soon to add to the Dullstack!

Go for it! This needs to be a thing on Sunstack ‘A day in my dull life’ 😂

Peggy did it again today, third day in a row!she must have eaten something nasty on the beach. Or maybe it’s age 😢

You tried to be dull, but this actually was entertaining to the last… I also woke to our dog’s ‘biz’ artfully squibbled about on the floor. All hail the washable rug...

Excellent Queenie costume 😂.

Condolences on the dog squibbles 🤢 Good luck for tomorrow morning, I am bracing myself! Maybe I should sleep in late so another family member has to deal with it 😈

Too funny your highness. Get some baby gates and pen her up. Or put her in a kennel. She won’t poop in there. Miles of potty cleanup is the one thing I don’t miss abt my sweet Jack Russell girl Zoe. Now gone. Miss her every day but not the potty. 😔

Ah she’s an old dog and we trained her with a crate, yes, it was a great way to stop night time accidents. But one night, a couple of years ago, a carbon monoxide alarm went off near her crate. We didn't know until the morning, when I came down to find she had managed to bend the bars and get out -that’s how scared she was! Now she will never go into a crate again, she’s too scared. So unfortunately kennels and crates are out of the question. So hopefully her tummy is feeling better today 🤞

Oh no. Mine wouldn’t have either. She was a scaredy cat jack russell. lol. And also a smelly dog. Terrible halitosis before she died. Vet never could find anything wrong with her 😢 which reminds me of the Dav Pilkey book Dog Breath abt a dog w stinky breath. Used to be a children’s librarian before I retired. Loved picture books and the artwork in them. If it got a Caldecott it was on my MUST buy list. The American Library Association annual award for best American illustrations in a picture book. Course I don’t think Pilkey was ever on the list. His books were so funny. Dog Breath Dogzilla Cat Kong to name a few.

Oh Peggy, that’s not nice. Our doggies are holidaying in the countryside at the dog sitters while we enjoy the sunshine in Spain. I’m not allowed to complain as we are on holiday, but honestly I think they made the mattress in our room from a concrete slab 😭 the sunshine is nice though!!

Love everything about this…except for the poo, I’m sorry you had to deal with that!!

Our dog seems to have an iron constitution so we’ve not had to deal with that since she was a puppy, although now I’ve written it down she’s probably going to eat a rotting seal at the beach and decorate the house with it tonight!!
