I made you a Procreate e-book!
Make beautiful illustrations from your sofa/ bed/ beanbag/ inflatable
I made you a workbook full of tips and tricks for making gorgeous handmade-looking illustrations on Procreate
I recorded a live Procreate session a couple of weeks ago, but who has an hour to sit and wait for me to say the useful nugget you need? Not busy important people like us! With a e-book you can flick straight to the juicy bits: bish bash bosh, learnt!
Maybe you are new to working digitally and it seems scary?
Maybe you use Photoshop but are fed up of all the scanning? Wouldn’t it be nice to draw straight onto your screen?
Perhaps you can never imagine putting down your IRL paper and paints, I hear you!
Maybe you’d like to work digitally but you hate ALL the digital brushes on the internet. I know! But I found some good ones, I will share my personal favourites.
Are you worried it will all look too digital and you’ll hate it?
I had those worries too, I LOVED working with ink on paper like ye olden days, but I wondered if there was a quicker, easier way to make picture books. After all, book advances are not going up and books take aaaages to make.
After a couple of years of exploring and making books digitally I am a Procreate convert. I have made two new picture books using Procreate and I love how they look. So I thought I would share what I have learned.
‘Procreate for Paper Lovers’ is available for paid subscribers only. Psssst, come here, listen. You could sign up, get the workbook and leave 🤫 I won’t mind. We won’t fall out.
Make beautiful illustrations from your sofa/ bed/ beanbag/ inflatable. I made my last book from the sofa: Granny tray on my knee, fire crackling, apple pencil scribbling…
Show me what you create. Tag me so I can see your illustrations on Instagram, I am dying to see what you do!
Love Helenx
P.S. If you have a question or comment please post it here in Substack, my email inbox is overflowing. We have a lovely community of creatives here in Pencil Pals who can all help me answer your questions. Thank you. Hx
Brilliant! I’ve used Procreate for 2years now and created 2 picture books on it! I also love mixing traditional art with digital for pure pleasure! I can’t wait to find out what brush you used in your pirate book video! I loved how it created multiple smudgy line thicknesses in one brush! :)
Super workbook after the workshop which I had liked so much 😍
