Ahh lovely rug - smug as a bug with a rug?! ☺️ I watched Modern Family and fell asleep on the sofa- looking forward to having some time off after Bologna and joining @Rachel Bevan Baker s Animation Pie on here - I think of animation less like illustration and more like knitting 🧶 Have a lovely Sunday
Those are some anxiety-inducing renovation pics 🫣 glad it has all worked out! Looks lovely. We’re house training a puppy at the moment so our rugs (one big one, and a few small decorative ones) are all rolled up and shelved, out of the splash zone. Attack On Titan is amazing, you should give it a go and keep watching! I wasn’t much into anime or manga before watching it but I was absolutely hooked. It’s brutal though!
I attended a 6 hour drivers ed refresher course. The instructor was very strict and the content, guess what, I knew 99% of it. I did that to get a $114 discount on my annual car insurance policy. Luckily I was able to jot down some ideas in my notebook. She wasn't lookin!!!
Wow that looked like a major renovation! It turned out great, in your place I would be so happy to sit on the couch! This weekend I helped my aunt who just had a second mastectomy. It’s hard to see her so frail but I’m glad I can be there for her. I moved my chicks to a bigger spot in my studio, and wondered if I’ll ever get to use it. Currently it’s too cold and it is packed with the overflow from the house.
My studio is an old shop on my farm, cement floors are perfect for this. It’s not insulated so it’s not a winter weather studio. It’s also the place that extra stuff gets tossed from the house 🤣
I learned to play the succession theme on the piano because I love it so much, the only thing I can play. Since you ask: my Sunday has started in the barber shop because yesterday I cut my son’s hair so badly that I was awake for three hours in the night worrying about it. Hope your Sunday is more relaxing.
Wow, I am impressed you play Succession, I am trying to get my daughter to watch it in the hope she’ll want to learn it on piano. Good luck at the barber!
It’s a bit like when you’re a child watching something you know will probably give you nightmares, but you watch anyway (from behind the sofa cushion) 🤣
I am so with you on the manga! I love those backgrounds, but the characters... man, I tried. I feel so uncool because so many artists in different artist (especially hobbyist) circles are into manga and I just can't, can't.
I love your Sunday House Chats! My weekend was house-y too, helping my lovely aunt and uncle clean out decades of treasure/junk from my grandma's house—she passed away just before xmas and it was strangely comforting actually, to be at her place again, despite all the higgledy-piggledy furniture etc. The best box was full of gorgeous airmail letters from soldiers in WWII, who stayed with my great-grandfolks while on leave during the war—an army base is nearby, and the great-grands would take in whoever didn't have family in the area at holiday times etc. Those letters and a box with my granddad's extremely disorderly but colorful stamp collection were absolute gold. Plus a high school yearbook with sassy and sweet signatures from the 1930s "to Bobbie with love from your old pal Roz xxoo" etc. I'm not sure what to do with them all, but the envelopes may become some kind of art project. They're like gorgeous collages all on their own.

Ha! Smug bugs 😆
The knitting comparison is spot on!
🥰
Look forward to that Sam!! There are some lovely textile/knitted animations out there... maybe we could combine the two

Oh a puppy! Worth rolling back the rugs for a while for a puppy! Will watch more A on T, everyone is telling me how great it is.
Nice rug!! What a treat to sit on your sofa again... I've walked the dog in the drizzle, and now I'm doing prep for Animation Pie!
Love What We Do In the Shadows - the title sequence alone is a gorgeous feast for the eyes!
That title sequence is amazing, we NEVER press skip!

Are driver refresher courses common/ mandatory in the U.S.? Interesting!

Chicks? Chickens in your studio? What? Amazing!

That rug is STUNNING 🤩 ooh Attack on Titan is great (but I have to hide for some of it - illustrator eyes and also scary Titans!)
Now I know you like Attack on Titan, I will definitely watch some more.

I’m watching Attack on Titan at the request of my son! I like the story but not the art style.
