Yes please, what a great idea. How do you get all those delicious textures using procreate? And why do my brushes keep making straight lines?! Looking forward to seeing your new book.
Cracking subject & Congrats on the book Helen, it looks amazing. I’ve used Procreate for over 2 years now and still learning! So I would love to see your process. I have just completed my 2nd picture book on this platform and could not have done it without the support of my amazing art designer, who helped me with the boring but important stuff like canvas settings, colour profile, page dimensions and file settings for print :)
I think you are lucky as you have a fab publication team to do all of that stuff. Paper quality is not often taken into account when self publishing, so lots of trial & error in order to adjust colour settings to counteract saturation! 🥱 I look forward to seeing your procreate journey.
This sounds like a great idea! I work mostly in procreate, but I don’t use half the settings available! I’d love to hear your tips for creating a picture book digitally
Yes please. Everything around how to paint using mask and selection tool would be helpful. How to create and edit the mask? What’s alpha lock? Thank you 😊
I am afraid I am no good at masks and have no idea what an alpha lock is! I made a book on Procreate but don't know ALL the tools 😂 I just know the features I used.
I’d love a procreate workshop. I’m enjoying combining it with drawings I’ve already made to create new images, but any techniques would be really interesting. Thank you 👍
Yes- would love to learn more about your process and how you used the different colour profiles/canvas dimension available in Procreate etc. so that the images were ready for picture book printing ❤️ love using procreate.
Fantastic Helen. I don’t get the point of layers so would love some info on that. Also basics like how to cut around a shape of something else like a physical drawing and stick it down on the procreate image .. can’t cope with YouTube so it would be great if you shed some Procreate light! X
Congratulations on the new book Helen, looks fabulous!! I’m a analogue gal for now, but I like to sketch on procreate. So easy to move stuff around. Would be fascinated to see a pro create workshop from you. Colour baffles me digitally, for some reason!
I’d be keen to learn more about Procreate, I’ve only really played about a bit with it ( not my own ... yet ... ), and would love to hear your hints and tips!
Yes please! I’m a procreate user/lover for my own sketch practice. I’d be curious to hear how you set up your canvases, your thoughts on color picking for print and how you planned out your book.
Yes please. I'm curious about how to work in a picture book size on a 12'9" screen! Atm I'm just sketching roughs and ideas on mine.
Ah yes, I have a trick for that.
Oooh yes please - would love a procreate workshop 🥰
I’m very new to procreate and haven’t got my head around much more than using the brushes and blending yet 😅
Would like to know more about using the layers to best effect and the more technical tool menus.
Would love to see how you work on procreate - the illustrations in your new book look utterly beautiful! I love how loose and atmospheric they are 🥰
Happy publishing day for Thursday!!
On it! It’s happening next Wednesday! Hope you can make it. I don't know all the technical tools, just what I needed to use.
I’m sure just the ones you needed will be more than enough 😅 Thank you! Hope I can make it too!
Would love to know your favourite brushes 😍

Oh yes that straight line thing! 😂 I have lots of fave brushes that make good textures, I’ll spill the beans next Wednesday at 7pm (uk time)

I know colour settings and all that, yawn! I was worried the colour might not print well, but it did!

I don’t use a lot of the setting either, I just use what I need 😂
Yes please! (Answering for me and a friend!) Especially if it’s super basic... where do you start?
xxx

Ooh yes please! I keep putting off using it so anything would be great 😊

I am not an expert at cutting and pasting TBH 😂 I didn’t do any of that in my book.

Yes please I’m considering moving to Procreate and would love to see how you use it Helen.
