I bought a packet of paper white bulbs online one late night in December and I’m so glad I did I just put them in various bowls/vessels with water and they take about 2 weeks to shoot up green spires and then the tiny white flowers last for ages then so far they kind of spectacularly collapse which is far enough! So they have been the heavy hitters in the still life/window sill department.
Also you’re beautiful ship in a lightbulb 😍 reminded me of this weeks revelation I read about these lightbulbs in India knights home book (not sure it’s the most successful crossover from newsletter to book ever) BUT she mentioned these lightbulbs that are what fancy hotels/restaurants use and we bought 2 and it’s ruined us we can’t go back they are so nice- it makes things feel cozy and kind of like an old painting- anyway thought pencil pals people would also be into this…
I wonder if it’s too late to plant some paper white bulbs now!? I fancy seeing those smile at me every morning from my window sill. Isn’t that pockets episode brilliant? Great light bulbs! I love that you threw that random fact in here, this is the place to share good bulbs! I will be ordering. Hx
Love the new hashtag! I cleaned all my windows last weekend so am enjoying how shockingly sparkly they are now 😅 I also have some lovely old Erik Hoglund glass paperweights balancing on the sills including a robot and a naked lady with big boobies!

I have a glass paperweight my mum bought me that has glass jellyfish inside and a huge glass shell that I bought for myself at the same time that are some of my shiny objet d’art and I bought two gorgeous dragon broaches from Winchester market before Christmas that I adore!!
Your jellyfish paperweight sounds beautiful, and two pressies for yourself before Christmas sounds like a very sensible idea. We have a tradition of wrapping up pressies to ourselves and writing ‘Love from Ron and Betty Frampton’ on them. Copied the tradition from our best pals who also get pressies from the mysterious Ron and Betty 😂
Ha ha! My oven is full of environmentally-friendly oven cleaner, which is NOT as effective as the toxic bomb stuff, so I'm having a cup of tea while it soaks in. Not shiny, but 27 paper stars hanging in my window are making me happy! Will have to do a walktosee drawing of them
I kept paying because I can’t afford to so why not contribute for something I enjoy so much. Those socks are an excellent colour. I also love the ship in a bulb/bottle. I would love to live nearer to the coast, seaside things look a touch out of place in a house in Leeds but I have a collection of shells in the downstairs toilet.
