Is it time to ditch my magic writing dressing gown?
Have you got a lucky hat/ dressing gown/ pants?
This was my lucky work dressing gown for about 11 years. My daughter got it for me from New Look for about a tenner when she was 3 years old (with help obvs).
I wrote How to Hide a Lion and every book I made since while wearing this dressing gown over my clothes; it gets cold in my studio.
Last year I gave it to Peggy Dog and she slept on it for a year. It wasn’t quite so lucky for her and she didn’t write one book! Not one!
But I did write one about her: Smelly Peggy, so maybe it did work!
Anyway, anyone want a lucky work dressing gown? 😂 I offered it to Him Indoors but he was a bit sniffy. I think it still has some good stories left in it, I am sure of it! Maybe I should patch it up and carry on wearing it?
I bought a new one but I am not feeling its power yet. Shall I ditch it and get another?
Have you got any lucky work hats/ dressing gowns/ pants?

Funnily enough I do have a pair of garish, ill-fitting trousers that I wear when I need to get stuff done around the house.
I don’t have any shoes that go with them, so I can’t go out. 😂😂😂
Noooooo. Repair it!!! It's easy enough to do and will look super cool. Make it visible and funky - it may even bring you more inspiration. There's a lot about visible mending online. And it's enviro friendly. Less trash is always a good thing. And it's meaningful to you. If you do let us see what it looks like.
